<p>On a personal note I really don&#8217;t care of the green bar (PageRank) as I feel it is just a factor to sell links and make some quick money. But still Pagerank is an indicator on how Google ranks/assign credibility of your site on it&#8217;s ranking algorithm. Initial responses have been really good with <a href="http://tweetscan.com/index.php?s=pagerank">updates coming on twitter</a> that <a href="http://www.problogger.net/">ProBlogger</a> is now PR7 (Congrats Darren). </p>
<p>So have you observed changes to the green bar for your sites ?</p>

<p>Keeping track of conversations on Twitter can be really tough as the twitter users add @[username] tag and reply to a particular conversation and some times you feel lost when you get these replies as the conversation may been moved to a different topic or is confusing to interpret the conversations when you are working in different time zones. </p>
<p>Our life has been a bit easy with desktop twitter clients like <a href="http://www.tweetdeck.com/beta/">TweetDeck</a> that places the replies in a separate columns. I have used <a href="http://quotably.com/">Quotably</a> in the past to track twitter conversations but now Quotably has been officially closed. </p>
<p>So here comes <a href="http://tweetree.com/">Tweetree</a> that tracks twitter conversations using your twitter login and Tweetree displays a threaded discussion (original post and the subsequent replies) so you don&#8217;t miss on to anything. Another impressive feature of Tweetree is that it also pulls in external content like twitpic photos, youtube videos and more, so that you can see them right in your stream without having to click through every link your friends post which saves a lot of time. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/tweetree.jpg" alt="tweetree" title="tweetree" width="450" height="400" size-full wp-image-159" /></p>
<p>Also don&#8217;t forget to <a href="http://twitter.com/namit">follow me on twitter</a> and also <a href="http://tweetree.com/search?q=tweetree">check out what is everyone talking about Tweetree</a>. </p>

<p><span class="drop_cap">F</span>acebook is arguably one of the best sources of free traffic for your website. So getting your Facebook account linked with your twitter account will automatically update your status as you post a tweet on <a href="http://www.twitter.com">Twitter</a>.</p>
<p class="note">Traffic from Twitter depends a lot on how you try to promote links to your blog posts. So be careful that you don&#8217;t spam.</p>
<p>Following is a small tutorial on how you can link up your twitter account with Facebook account.</p>
<p>Step 1: Login to your Facebook account and Facebook-Twitter can be directly accessed by <a href="http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2231777543">this page</a> and click on the &#8220;Go to Application&#8221; link. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/facebook-twitter-applicatio.jpg" alt="facebook-twitter-application" title="facebook-twitter-application" width="450" height="277" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-99" /></p>
<p>Step 2: Click on the &#8220;Allow&#8221; button and enter your Twitter login details so that Facebook can access your Twitter data. Your Twitter login data is entirely secure with Facebook.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/facebook-twitter-applicatio1.jpg" alt="facebook-twitter-applicatio1" title="facebook-twitter-applicatio1" width="450" height="277" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-105" /></p>
<p>Step 3: After you login you will be greeted with the screen below and click on &#8220;Allow Twitter to Update Your Facebook Status&#8221; button.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/facebook-twitter-applicatio2.jpg" alt="facebook-twitter-applicatio2" title="facebook-twitter-applicatio2" width="450" height="277" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-107" /></p>
<p>Step 4: Then click on the &#8220;Allow Status Updates&#8221; and you are done syncing your status updates from Twitter. You can also edit the application settings from the same page. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/facebook-twitter-applicatio3.jpg" alt="facebook-twitter-applicatio3" title="facebook-twitter-applicatio3" width="450" height="277" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108" /></p>
<p>So once the set up is done, all the tweets you post will be sent to your friends on Facebook and you will be surprised to get a lot of replies back too!</p>
<p>You can take the Facebook-Twitter application a step further by <a href="http://www.facebook.com/editnotes.php?import">importing your blog posts on Facebook</a> which will appear along with notes on your Facebook profile page. </p>

<p>Have you ever thought of what people are talking about you or your brand on Twitter or finding popular trends on Twitter which can be invaluable. There is a lot of fun tracking the hottest trends and conversations on Twitter along with <a href="http://www.google.com/trends" target="_blank">Google Trends</a> or explore some more advanced features with <a href="http://www.google.com/insights/search/" target="_blank">Google Insights</a>.<a href="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/twitter.jpg"><img class="alignright frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/twitter-thumb1.jpg" border="0" alt="Twitter" align="right" /></a></p>
<p><strong>How to track Keywords and conversations with Twitter ?</strong></p>
<p>There are a lot of ways to track conversations, trends and what people are talking about with websites listed below</p>
<p>1. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.twitscoop.com/" target="_blank"><strong>TwitScoop</strong></a>: TwitScoop tracks the most popular keywords on twitter and also has a search feature. It also displays the latest tweets for that term. You also get a graphical representation of the rise and the fall in the trends for that particular keyword versus time. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/1-thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="1" /></p>
<p>2. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://tweetscan.com/" target="_blank"><strong>TweetScan</strong></a>: TweetScan is also a cool tool which displays all the recent conversations for the particular key-phrase. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/2-thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="2" /></p>
<p>3. <strong><a rel="nofollow" href="http://twitter100.com/" target="_blank">Twitter100</a></strong>: Twitter100 is for tracking conversations when you have a lot of followers and displays their tweets all in one page for your 100 followers also comes in with a refresh rate of 3 mins. </p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/3-thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="3" /></p>
<p>4. <strong><a rel="nofollow" href="http://quotably.com/" target="_blank">Quotably</a></strong>: Quotably is my favorite tool to follow/reply to all the conversations and trust me it is better than desktop clients like TweetDeck and twhirl.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter frame" src="http://www.amitnyamtabad.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/4-thumb.jpg" border="0" alt="4" /></p>
<p>I also recommend that you check <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.twitag.com/" target="_blank">twitag</a> which is a #tag finder for twitter and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://twittertroll.com/" target="_blank">TwitterTroll</a> which happens to be a real time twitter search engine.</p>
<p>Please let me know If I have missed any listing any other tools and share them in your comments. </p>
