Post Flop Texas Holdem Rules for Winning
Post flop play is very significant for a win at Texas Holdem. We should be all the more wary about what Texas holdem rules apply in a post flop play because we're steps nearer to winning the pot.
If we mess up with post flop play we mess up our chances of winning the pot. Thus, we should know how this phase is played through Texas holdem rules. On these rules we base our post flop winning strategies. After the dealer burns a card (picks up a top card and turns it aside) three flopped cards are displayed on the board. With their two-card hand and the 3 cards on the board the first 5 board cards are thus presented. Texas holdem rules allow us to use these cards to improve and strengthen our hands post flop.
Texas holdem rules base hand strength according to the basic hand ranks in poker. The first player left of the dealer (small blind) now acts under the gun or UTG. And this player acts UTG form then on. This player may opt to check, bet or fold post flop. The best style here is to always bet. Checking will reveal the weakness of our hand. Texas holdem rules make the flopped cards on the board a basis of whether we play or fold at this point. The round ends when all holdem players have either folded or called the current wager or raise.
Another card is burned at this point and the fourth board cards are dealt. Texas holdem rules call this the Turn. A new round of betting happens, similar to the post flop pattern. Then the last burn card is set aside after which the last board cards are dealt. Texas holdem rules call this phase the River. There another round of betting here, and the remaining player who doesn't fold gets the pot. The winner may choose to surrender or muck the winning hand face down towards the dealer.
But when calling of bets continues at River phase, all players remaining will be required by Texas holdem rules to reveal hands. This is showdown. The player with the highest poker hand rank wins. Losing players may choose to muck their hands during showdown.
Thus, Texas holdem rules govern our play and basic strategies at post flop play. We should master these rules and see where pertinent winning strategies may be executed to effect a profitable win at poker.
